2nd Asian Sports Ministers Conference was Held in Tehran from 4th-7th May 2009.Around 35 Sports Minister and high official of Asian Countries gathered in Tehran to discuss the means and plans to establish a network for upgrading the level of sports in Asia. The conference was officially inaugurated by the vice president of Iran H.E.Mr.Ali Abadi. Several Participants expressed that it is important o render necessary support to developing countries so as to improve standards of sports environment in Asia as a whole. Participants concurred the chair’s suggestion that this type of meeting ought to be held continuously from now on,given the fact that this one has been extremely meaningful and significant to develop further international friendship and the promotion of sports in the Asian region.The delegates appreciated the efforts of Iran in promoting sports particularly in Asia.The conference was addressed by president AJJBWF Mr.Khalil Ahmed Khan who spokes about the importance of traditional sports & games program. He Further expressed that national Governments should give priority to sport as tool for development and peace,taking into account the economic, social, cultural, educational,political and environmental dimension.Play for Peace project was elaborated during the conference which was warmly appreciated by the participants.
